SPRING Technologies Announces Worldwide Partnership With OPEN MIND Technologies AG

Under the terms of the agreement inked by the two European software publishers, OPEN MIND Technologies AG will now be offering its customers the NCSIMUL machining simulation package as an add-on for its hyperMILL CAM software. The agreement includes worldwide distribution of NCSIMUL by OPEN MIND Technologies sales network (in Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, the US, etc.). The partnership is the result of a close and committed collaboration to bring a solution to the 5-axis milling market that will be both comprehensive and easy to implement.

A direct interface between hyperMILL and NCSIMUL now enables all data required for machining simulation to be transferred directly between the two software environments. It takes just a few clicks for the CAM programmer to generate a shop floor environment in which to fine-tune ISO programs. This includes NC controller emulation, toolpath checking, collision detection, and measurement capabilities.

Volker Nesenhner, Vice President, Global Sales at OPEN MIND Technologies AG, explains his company’s strategy: “Our customers have to deal with increasingly complex machining situations. With NCSIMUL we aim to address every aspect of the needs of our 5-axis NC machining customer base. We are confident that the new partnership will help to expand our share of the fast-growing 5-axis market.”

Olivier Bellaton, Director of Software Development at SPRING Technologies, emphasises the importance of NCSIMUL’s positioning as a solution tightly coupled with hyperMILL: “Our new partner, OPEN MIND Technologies AG, is deeply committed to distributing our software. What customers of OPEN MIND Technologies will be getting is a fully packaged offering with an NC configuration in which their NC machine, setup and controller are already customised. This will make the software easy to deploy and, we hope, a very popular part of the OPEN MIND Technologies offering”.

NCSIMUL is the result of close collaboration with NC machine-tool makers and leading European and Japanese groups in the automobile and aeronautical industries.

Positioned as a high-end solution to accompany popular CAM packages, NCSIMUL is a specialised software dedicated to NC programmers. It is used to troubleshoot and optimise ISO programs for NC machine-tools without running costly tests on production tools. Running through the program in a virtual environment cuts out block-to-block machining with reduced feeds and speeds and the use of soft material prototypes. NCSIMUL slashes program development times by at least 50%.
