Vispower Technology today announced the free online 3D model sharing and visualization service, 3Dfile.io (BETA), now supports online 2D DWG and DXF visualization using the Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) Web standard along with an easy-to-use markup tool.  These features are supported on all modern Web browsers including PC, Mac, and Mobile Devices.

2D DWG and DXF vector drawings are supported on all major platforms, including PC, Mac, Android OS and iOS (iPad/iPhone).  Users can now upload 2D drawing files as well as part and assembly files using 3Dfile.io's iconic "Drop 3D files here." interface.  A link to the uploaded files is instantly created and can be shared with anyone.  Visitors can view the uploaded 2D and 3D CAD online directly in their web browser.

Other enhancements to 3Dfile.io coinciding with the release announcement focus on more control and the greater flexibility with the uploaded data.

  • Enabling or disabling download of original files
  • Password protection when sharing models with others
  • Embed the model viewer in Blogs or other Web pages.

3D CAD supported in 3Dfile.io includes native CAD formats such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Pro/E (Creo), NX and CATIA as well as non-native formats such as a IGES, STEP, JT, STL and OBJ.
