Formtek Announces Company-Wide License Agreement with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company to Expand Formtek Implementations in Support of Company-Wide Standard Engineering Data Management and Engineering Change Management Initiatives

WASHINGTON—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Nov. 10, 2003— Formtek, Inc., a leading provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software and implementation services, announced today that Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company has signed an agreement to expand the deployment of the Formtek | Orion product suite.

The agreement expands company-wide the use of the Formtek | Orion content management software to support a standard for management of and access to engineering information, and expands the use of the Formtek | Orion Workflow in support of a standard for engineering change management.

Prior to this agreement, Formtek's implementations within Lockheed Martin Aeronautics supported enterprise users across multiple programs, partners, suppliers and customers. These implementations have supported applications encompassing technical information management, proposal management, factory floor access, delivery of contractually required data, and engineering change request processing. This expanded agreement provides for expansion of the existing Formtek implementations within Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, as well as deployment of Formtek licenses and solutions to additional aircraft programs.

"We recently identified a requirement for a company-wide standard process and solution for the management of engineering information and for engineering change management," noted Ron Best, Site Lead with the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Enterprise Data Management Systems, Strategic Planning initiative. "Formtek | Orion and Formtek | Orion Workflow were providing such capabilities on the F-16, F/A-22, and C-130J programs. These were proven systems, in production use, providing significant reductions in person-hours and cycle times, and significant return on investment. As a result, we've chosen to expand the use of the Formtek | Orion products to a number of our other aircraft programs."

"Formtek has been working with, and providing solutions to, a number of Lockheed Martin's most prestigious domestic and international programs for many years now," said Dennis Scanlon, COO of Formtek. "Within Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, we have had solutions in production on the F-16 and F/A-22 Programs since the mid-1990s. Our systems work. They're secure, they're scalable, and they provide proven benefits. We are very pleased that Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company has recognized this performance, and chosen to expand the use of Formtek's software products and solutions to additional programs."
