Robots for Machining Composites with Robotmaster to be Demonstrated at JEC 2011

Barcelona, Spain- February 12, 2011: Robotmaster V5.0 will be demonstrated at the JEC show in Paris from March 29 to 31, 2011. Robotmaster will highlight the latest features available in an already powerful solution for programming robots and decreasing costs. Robots programmed with Robotmaster are proving to be a cost efficient solution for machining large composites, aerospace, automotive and energy industry parts.

A Kuka robot will be used to demonstrate two complex machining applications using robots on typical composites parts. Additionally, part inspection and verification software solutions using Verisurf Software will also be demonstrated.

Major clients in the aerospace and automotive industry are already using the power of Robotmaster to increase their manufacturing capabilities, radically reduce programming time and steeply reduce their manufacturing cost.

Manufacturing parts using light weight composite materials is growing rapidly in many industries. At the same time, manufacturing them in a cost effective manner and with minimal setups (a single setup in many cases) is made possible by using a robotic solution - a robot mounted on 1 or multiple rails and the part mounted on 1 or multiple rotary axes. Managing all these axes is made easy with Robotmaster software.

Robotmaster® offers a powerful software solution for programming industrial robots to perform simple to complex tasks with superior ease! It offers an integrated robot programming, optimization, simulation and program generation solution using industry proven CAD/CAM tools. Robotmaster generates optimized and error-free trajectory programming for tasks such as trimming, 3D machining, de-burring, polishing, dispensing, grinding and painting. These typically lengthy and expensive tasks can now be done in the fraction of the time it has taken in the past. You can now confidently and cost effectively use robots for short production cycles that was previously impossible.

Many robot programming challenges typically require intricate user intervention or costly manual editing for producing error free programs. Robotmaster V5 provides innovative new tools to effortlessly optimize robot programs. It easily produces error-free robot paths while avoiding singularity zones and any collisions with the robot, tool or work piece. Robotmaster's radically innovative optimization tool will automatically identify joint limits and optimize tool orientations for smooth transitions along the entire trajectory.

Verisurf Software offers a powerful range of software tools for inspection, measurement and verification and reverse engineering software. These tools are critical for meeting quality requirements for all manufacturers.

Robotmaster® seamlessly integrates robot programming, simulation and program generation inside Mastercam®’s industry proven CAD/CAM platform. Verisurf is also fully integrated inside Mastercam software.
