Toyota Relies on PolyWorks/Inspector for Sheet Metal Inspection

Sainte-Foy, Quebec, Canada - November 6, 2001 - InnovMetric Software is pleased to announce that its Japanese distributor, Tokyo Boeki Techno-System, has sold 51 seats of its flagship product PolyWorks to Toyota's Motomachi plant in Toyota City, Japan, from April to October 2001.

Following several months of testing, two divisions of Toyota selected the PolyWorks/Inspector solution for their sheet metal inspection tasks.

"PolyWorks/Inspector offers significant speed and interface improvements compared to the tools Toyota currently uses", explains Marc Soucy, President of InnovMetric Software. "Toyota was also impressed by InnovMetric's development plans and thinks that our quality control solution has a very promising future."

PolyWorks/Inspector is a powerful software solution for quickly comparing digitized point clouds to CAD models, measuring and verifying dimensions, and communicating results to colleagues and customers. PolyWorks/Inspector enables the use of dense point clouds, captured by optical and laser-based digitizers, for quality control tasks.

Toyota, Tokyo Boeki Techno-System and InnovMetric are working closely together to develop new tools dedicated to sheet metal inspection.
