ENOVIA V6 Collaborative Innovation Solution Helping LG to Enhance and Integrate Collaboration and Product Data Management

SEOUL, South Korea — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 2, 2010Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, announced that LG Electronics (LG) has successfully adopted Dassault Systèmes’ ENOVIA V6 solution. Designed to enhance and integrate collaboration and product data management, LG’s Mobile Communications (MC) Company’s deployment of ENOVIA V6 has been implemented in its R&D, manufacturing and purchasing processes by LG CNS, an IT consulting and solutions company, and Dassault Systèmes.

To enable a faster and more efficient bill of materials (BOM) management system, LG recognized the need for more accurate and consistent data management between its design engineering and BOM solutions, as well as powerful server security. The ENOVIA V6 solution has addressed these issues, while also improving product development through the automation of BOM creation, and providing a more systematic means of managing the countless product modifications that take place. In practice, this has made for a more efficient working environment, with staff now better able to share data and understand a product’s development history. LG has already documented higher work efficiency among its global business operations thanks to the successful deployment of ENOVIA V6.

Beginning with its installation in LG’s MC Company, ENOVIA V6 will be gradually extended to include users throughout local subsidiaries in 58 regions and 17 countries.

"Starting with the MC business unit, ENOVIA V6 will be implemented enterprise-wide to support the entire product development process,” said Kyung-ho Kim, senior vice president and Information Strategy Team leader at LG.

“We maximized the results of this critical project by leveraging LG CNS’s accumulated experience and know-how on Dassault Systèmes’ ENOVIA solution,” said Jae-sung Lee, vice president, LG Electronics Business Unit, LG CNS. “LG is now efficiently managing tens of terabytes of data, providing LG’s global users with a quick and easy PLM system, while exceeding the high-level requirements that a leader in the high-tech industry demands. We will continue the implementation of ENOVIA solutions for LG Electronics globally and closely collaborate with DS in various business areas.”

“ENOVIA V6 reflects the ability to offer a single repository, out-of-the-box, standardized processes and single version of the truth for LG globally. This was accomplished by a long-term strong strategic partnership that allowed LG and Dassault Systèmes to meet and exceed customer requirements,” said Young-bin Cho, managing director, Korea, Dassault Systèmes. “The successful implementation of the V6 online collaboration solution at LG shows the way for global companies in Korea and around to world to achieve new levels of innovation.”
