Mastercam Router Version 9 Unveiled

New Features Designed to Meet Changing Needs of Today’s Woodworking and Plastics Industries

Tolland, CT — CNC Software, Inc. has announced Mastercam Router Version 9. With a series of new tools and enhancements, this updated software provides greater speed, more flexibility, and new functionality. The changes and additions to Mastercam Router Version 9 are based primarily on direct feedback from Mastercam Router users. Among the new features:

Mastercam Router V9 can control block or "gang" drills, including straight and "T" block drills. Mastercam easily optimizes the drilling routine, dropping the correct drills according to the drill pattern that is being machined. Complete control over block drilling routines means faster turnaround and higher overall efficiency.

In addition to Mastercam’s wide variety of tool shapes and types, Router V9 has the added flexibility of Right Angle (RA) and Compound Angle (CA) head control. This aggregate head programming allows RA and CA heads to be applied to traditional toolpaths. Efficient RA and CA head control saves time by allowing users to do more machining in a single setup. It may also allow smaller shops to take on complicated jobs that were too difficult or time consuming with multiple setups, but are much easier when the piece doesn’t need to be removed from the router bed.

Mastercam Router V9 also includes High Speed Machining (HSM) abilities, including 2D high speed pocketing. Router servos can be damaged by fast, sharp-angle moves that traditionally occur during tool direction changes. HSM reduces sharp tool movements, so there is less wear on the cutting tool and router.

Mastercam Router Version 9 includes a wide variety of new functions, including VBScript support, cabinet design software links, and toolpath nesting. Mastercam Router is designed to meet the changing needs of the woodworking and plastics industries. It will continue to be refined and expanded according to customer comments and requests.
