IndustryWeek Launches IW Manufacturing Business Challenge e-newsletter

CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 1, 2003--IndustryWeek (IW) magazine today announced the launch of a new e-mail newsletter written for manufacturing executives who seek strategic solutions to their business problems. Microsoft(R) Business Solutions is helping produce the e-newsletter. The inaugural issue of the monthly IW Manufacturing Business Challenge e-newsletter will be published on Wednesday, July 9. Free subscriptions can be obtained at www.IWchallenge.com/pr

"The IW Manufacturing Business Challenge e-newsletter is a unique way for time-pressed executives to get problem-solving ideas quickly and easily," said Mike Frichol, general manager of manufacturing for Microsoft Business Solutions.

Each issue will include a "challenge of the month" that presents a common difficulty manufacturers face, two solutions to the challenge written by industry experts, and a reader survey that asks subscribers to give their opinion on the month's challenge topic. The e-newsletter will also include a case study or white paper on the topic, plus the opportunity for readers to contribute their own solutions to the monthly challenge, as well as unique challenges that they face. Upcoming e-newsletter themes include "Track and Improve Return On Investment" on July 9, "Controlling Inventory Instead of Inventory Controlling Us" on August 13, and "Customer Service: Bottom Line Buster or Booster?" on September 10.

"Regardless of whether a company's goal is gaining market share or mere survival, today's tough economy requires business leaders to focus their organizations on overcoming challenges that yesterday might have seemed an acceptable cost of doing business," said Teri Mollison, publisher of IndustryWeek. "With the help of Microsoft Business Solutions, IndustryWeek has created this executive-level e-newsletter for discussing difficulties that manufacturers face and the best practices that can help companies solve their problems."

The IW Manufacturing Business Challenge e-newsletter is published by IndustryWeek Custom Media and produced with Microsoft Business Solutions. For more information about the IW Manufacturing Business Challenge, visit www.IWchallenge.com/pr
