Apriso Announces the Availability of SAP Solutions for Logistics and Manufacturing Execution

LONG BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 2001--Apriso announces today the general availability of its new SAP offering, consisting of logistics execution system (LES) services plus SAPConsole extensions, known as mobile Application Plug-ins (MAPs(TM)), that address manufacturing and plant maintenance operations, and offer extra capabilities such as time and attendance, labeling, product genealogy tracking, machine tracking, order dispatching and reporting.

According to Chris Will, Apriso's Vice President of Research and Development, Apriso's SAP solutions satisfy growing demand for business systems that streamline existing ways of working, yet allow manufacturers to adapt quickly as business conditions change.

"Customers are increasingly choosing open, best-of-breed solutions like the mySAP platform, and the proof is in the numbers. SAP's mySAP® e-business platform continues to pace the manufacturing systems industry, accounting for almost half of the entire industry's recent revenue growth. Recognizing SAP's leadership, our SAP solutions extend proven mySAP LES and radio frequency (RF) capabilities into the entire plant, including production lines, maintenance operations and quality control."

SAPConsole is SAP's data collection solution for warehouse operations, consisting of technology for linking RF devices directly with mySAP supply chain management (SCM) applications plus nearly 50 standard transactions for shipping, receiving and transferring material. Apriso MAPs meet the requirements of manufacturers who want to use SAPConsole throughout the whole plant and not just in the warehouse. Comprising over 105 standard time, attendance, labor, work in process, plant maintenance, quality control and product genealogy transactions, Apriso MAPs can sharply reduce project costs and accelerate time-to-benefit by eliminating the need to develop custom SAPConsole transactions. MAPs install quickly within the SAPConsole dynamic menu, provide standard bar code label management and printing capabilities, and work with SAP's graphical user interface (SAP GUI) or Telnet emulation for RF devices without requiring any extra networking investments or third-party middleware. Like all Apriso software products, MAPs are available in six languages including English, German, French, Japanese, Spanish (Mexican) and Portuguese (Brazilian).

As an SAP Software Partner of long standing, Apriso uses its mySAP domain expertise to prepare business process blueprints, conduct physical site surveys, prepare system designs, install data collection as well as labeling hardware, extend the standard SAPConsole transaction set, configure the SAPConsole Dynamic Menu, train end users and provide on-going support.

Apriso, formerly known as CIM Vision International, already provides mission-critical data collection and supply chain execution solutions for many strategic SAP customers, including Volkswagen, Valeo, Compaq, Microsoft, International Paper and Weyerhaeuser. In addition to its SAPConsole solutions, Apriso holds certificates for seven SAP interfaces, more than any other SAP partner in the world.
