SUMMER 2009 EDITION
Gibbs and Associates Celebrates 25 years
Gibbs and Associates, a Cimatron company and developer of GibbsCAM® software for programming CNC machine tools, celebrates 25 years of success. Entering its 26th year, the company continues to enhance and develop its cutting-edge GibbsCAM to support the latest machine tools, from the simplest to the most complex. While maintaining its ability to generate and verify toolpaths for increasingly complex parts with its integrated suite of modules, GibbsCAM remains one of the easiest NC programming systems to learn and use.
As manufacturing retrenches, CAD/CAM software can help manufacturers squeeze the most performance out of machine tools with the latest programming techniques. Advanced simulation and synchronization for simultaneous five-axis machining and multitasking machine tools head up a long list of cutting-edge CAD/CAM software capabilities for programming today’s increasingly complex machinery.
Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM® software for programming CNC machine tools and a Cimatron company, demonstrated new enhancements to the 5-axis module of GibbsCAM 2009 at EASTEC 2009 in exhibit #5429, at the Eastern States Exposition Grounds in West Springfield, MA from May 19-21, 2009.

GibbsCAM Success Stories
Taking Risk Out of Oil Industry Machining
Using the more advanced modules of GibbsCAM, and a
4-axis horizontal mill, High Tech Components, Inc. begins and completes over 20 pieces a day with a single set-up and machining cycle. GibbsCAM has helped the shop increase the company’s size from 28 to more than 120 employees.
They Don’t Crash at Nash
Students learn how GibbCAM simulation can help prevent 5-axis collisions at Nash Community College. The school’s success in developing student skills led to its accreditation by the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS), the nations’ only ANSI accredited developer of precision manufacturing skill standards and competency assessments.
CAM For Multitasking Operations
Accutech Machine Inc., serving the aerospace, oil and gas industry, turned to GibbsCAM for programming success on a Mori Seiki multitasking NT machine. Since combining this machine’s capabilities with GibbsCAM, overall cycle times have been reduced by as much as 50 percent. Having been designed by machinists, GibbsCAM takes into consideration the functionality that would make sense from a machinist’s point of view.
