GameX in Philadelphia Announces Advisory Board Industry Leaders Join NBC-supported Game Consumer Show and Conference

Philadelphia, PA--- Thursday, April 23, 2009---GameX (Games & Media Expo), October 23-25, 2009 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, today revealed their national advisory board. Comprised of twenty-one noted members of the interactive game industry, the advisory board will provide their leadership expertise and professional advice on key show matters for GameX, focusing on game consumers, and the GameX Industry Summit for game professionals.

Confirmed members of the GameX advisory board include Craig Alexander (vice president of product development, Turbine), Jeff Anderson (CEO, Quick Hit), Jim Barger (director of Broadcast Operations, NBC 10), Gordon Bellamy (board director, IGDA), Emily Brinkert (director of operations, 2K Boston), Heather Ellertson (vice president of marketing, Entertainment Consumers Association), Susan Gold (director, Game Review Program), Jeff Goodsill (VP and general manager, Tencent Boston), Tronster Hartley (senior programmer, Firaxis Games), Steve Horowitz (creative director, The Code International), Alex Horn (lead designer, X Points Games Studio), James Huth (director of business development, NBC 10), Lorne Lanning (co-founder, Oddworld Inhabitants), Jen MacLean (senior vice president of Business Development, 38 Studios), Chris Melissinos (chief gaming officer, Sun Microsystems), Marc Mencher (CEO, GameRecruiter), Steve Reid (executive vice president and managing director, Ubisoft-Red Storm), John Romero (vice-president and creative director, Gazillion Entertainment), Coray Seifert (game designer, Kaos Studios), Tommy Tallarico (creator, Video Games Live) and Wade Tinney (CEO, Large Animal Games).

The only major game consumer show in U.S. supported by a major media sponsor, GameX has partnered with NBC Local Media in Philadelphia to host a high-visibility entertainment, tech and media show with games as its main attraction. Designed to appeal to local, regional and national audiences of game players, film and TV fans, comic book buffs and tech enthusiasts, GameX will also feature a variety of pop culture elements such as advance film and TV screenings and trailers, celebrity guest appearances, high stakes game tournaments, robotics demonstrations, video art installations and much more.

Produced and presented by five regional chapters of International Game Developers Association (IGDA), GameX Industry Summit is a two-day industry summit featuring executive panels and workshops for game professionals and students. This event will gather some of the top game developers in the country for two days of focused discussion around best practices and innovation. The conference for game developers will feature thought-provoking content organized along two tracks, a ‘Right Brain’ Creativity Track and a ‘Left Brain’ Leadership Track.
