Alibriated: 21st Century Careers - Back to the Future

A message from Paul Grayson
Chairman and CEO, Alibre Inc.

"American's have a peculiar aptitude for mechanical improvements, which along with their spirit of enterprise will someday make the American economy the admiration and envy of the world"
Alexander Hamilton, Report on Manufactures — 1791

Alexander Hamilton almost single handedly invented the American financial system when he persuaded the first Congress to consolidate all state debt into a single national debt, create a national bank, and issue currency.

Hamilton strongly believed that manufacturing was the key to the prosperity for the Country and also recognized the need for a strong financial system to finance and support the expansion of production.

The recent era of financial engineering represented a repudiation of production as the basis for prosperity in exchange for consumption. Alexander Hamilton is probably still turning over in his grave. However, there are now signs of a return to Hamilton's core principles.

According to an article in the New York Times titled With Finance Disgraced, Which Career Will Be King? "A new pattern of occupational choice seems to be emerging. Public service, government, the sciences and even teaching look to be winners, while fewer shiny, young minds are embarking on careers in finance and business consulting."

Modeling Multivehicle Virtual Robotic Systems with Alibre Design

Alibre Vault

Alibre Value Added Resellers (VARs) collaborate with many interesting people in the business community and the academic world. Jesse Nichols of Brainchild Enterprises has been an Alibre VAR for several years and works closely with educators and engineers in New Mexico.

Recently Jesse introduced the Alibre Design 3D CAD program to Francisco Rodriguez, a Mechanical Engineering Masters student at the University of New Mexico. Francisco had used SolidWorks as an undergraduate student at the Army Institute of Technology in Ecuador. Now at the UNM, in a new school, Francisco didn't have access to a 3D design program. Seeing his needs, Jesse connected him to his website where he downloaded the 30 day free trial of Alibre Design Professional.

"Learning how to use the basic functions of the software was really easy, plus the tutorials were helpful when I didn't know how to do something"

Gadget Freak: Monster Power Blender is Sweetly Green

Here's a little extra content provided courtesy of Design News. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Rick Crammond created a turbine blender using the principles of Nikola Tesla. The Tesla blender achieves accelerated performance by combining water and air pressure simultaneously to the turbine nozzle. The blender is fueled by an off-grid, self-contained, solar-powered, re-circulating fluid system. The Tesla blender is green in its power use and made from recycled parts. Crammond incorporated solar, battery, electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, magnetic and mechanical systems into a powerful conglomeration.
