Infotech Enterprises GmbH, a leading provider of digital design communication solutions and a leading distribution partner of Actify, announced that a round of Actify importer updates and improvements has been released for SpinFire. Included in these updates are SolidWorks, CATIA V5 and the newly available 2D PDF Importer. The PDF importer allows users to view and add markup to standard PDF files. Many companies distribute PDF files but lack the ability to add comments and markups to the file. The new Actify importer solves this problem. The availability of the 2D PDF importer will help global enterprises streamline their collaboration processes.
“Many of our customers have been requesting the ability to view and markup PDF files and we are glad that we are now able to offer this capability,” said Jochen Layer, Sales Director at Infotech Enterprises GmbH. “The new 2D PDF importer will add to the already vast list of supported CAD formats and 2D support and provide greater value to the SpinFire solutions in today’s global markets.”
The CAD importers from Actify allow users to access native CAD files without the use of a CAD system. Importers open and read files from all major CAD systems, allowing SpinFire Professional, SpinFire Publisher or DesignShare Foundation to publish all major CAD files into Actify’s compact and secure .3D format, making sharing data much faster and safer than exchanging CAD files. This allows for paperless distribution of complex design data so companies will realize cost savings and productivity gains in all areas of business including product design, procurement, quoting and estimation, manufacturing, sales, marketing and support.
