PartMaker 9 launched

New releases are now available of the ArtCAM family of software for artistic applications.  The range comprises the entry-level version, ArtCAM Express for users new to CNC machining, ArtCAM Insignia for production machining and ArtCAM Pro for more complex design and manufacturing, plus the ArtCAM JewelSmith edition for the jewellery industry.  All of the products have been enhanced in the new versions.

Version 5 of PowerINSPECT includes support for five-axis scanning with Renishaw’s REVO probe.  This new release of the world’s most successful hardware-independent inspection software also features the ability to use multiple alignments within parts or assemblies, additional GD&T features, more flexible best-fit algorithms, improved CMM connectivity and more versatile report generation

Version 9 is now shipping of the PartMaker and SwissCAM software for the programming of turn-mill centres, Swiss-type lathes, CNC mills, conventional lathes and Wire EDM equipment.  Major highlights of this release include a revamped and more productive user-interface, improved capabilities for programming directly on solid models and the ability to generate HTML-based set-up sheets automatically.

One-year payback

Five-Axis Smoothing

Delcam has launched DentCAD, a new computer-aided design program for the dental industry.  DentCAD brings to the industry the benefits of speed and accuracy given by CAD software in many other sectors.  It can be used for the fast, reliable creation of dental restorations, including copings, crowns and bridge frameworks.

An investment in Delcam software by Dynamic Tool & Design paid for itself in less than a year by boosting the company’s ability to produce complex moulds quickly and accurately.  Dynamic, based in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, is a full-service, mould builder providing a complete solution from product design to mould verification.

DEVELOP3D Editor-in-Chief Al Dean highlights the speed and quality benefits of PowerMILL’s new five-axis smoothing algorithms and how that relates to Return on Investment.  To read the full article click here For more of Al’s reviews, plus all the latest CADCAM news, subscribe to DEVELOP3D magazine for free at www.develop3d.com
