Columbus, OH., November 4, 2002: Digital Data Technologies, Inc. (DDTI) announced today that it has completed delivery of an intelligent road centerline network, established a GIS web site, integrated GIS mapping in the 9-1-1 center, and provided a county-wide GIS viewing tool for Marshall County, Indiana. The entire project, which was completed in a couple of months, expedited the conclusion of Marshall County’s five-year implementation of a Geographical Information System.
“Our GIS is now second to none, as we have extremely accurate addressing information,” stated Shawnda Wenino, Marshall County’s GIS Coordinator. “With the field-verified addressing data, we can finally tie all of our data together in the GIS environment. One of the most rewarding things has been getting our GIS into the 9-1-1 dispatch center. When a call comes in, DDTI’s iView E9-1-1 software translates the information from Sprint and locates the call on a map at the dispatcher’s terminal. The road centerlines and address data provided dividends right away.
"We had an officer who could not find a house and the dispatcher was able to tell him exactly where the driveway was located!” Michael Marshall, Marshall County’s IT Director stated, “DDTI’s expertise with web hosting, Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal data and GIS allowed them to integrate our Assessor’s information and establish our GIS web presence (www.co.marshall.in.us). Marshall continued, “The unlimited site license for DDTI’s iView Office Edition (GIS viewing software) has also made the data accessible to everyone in the county. We even have the ability to take our entire GIS in the field with a GPS unit and view our data as we drive around!” Wenino concluded, “DDTI is a company that will not only deliver everything in their contract, but will go the extra mile to insure client satisfaction. The working relationship has been wonderful.”
