AUBURN HILLS, Mich.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—April 8, 2008— ABB Robotics, a leading manufacturer of industrial robots, has signed a 10-year lease agreement with the Brown Road Limited of Auburn Hills, Mich., keeping the company at the headquarters it has been situated in for more than 15 years.

ABB will continue to maintain a 370,000-square-foot section of the building, located at 1250 Brown Road. The building will house the North American Headquarters of ABB Robotics, offices, engineering and assembly areas.

Additionally, as ABB strives to design automation solutions that fit the ever-changing and unique needs of each customer, the renovated space will include a new, 55,000-square-foot customer center. The center will feature training classrooms and a training lab, which will be used to train up to 3,600 "students" each year, in addition to a demonstration area and a customer and product test area.

The city of Auburn Hills has approved an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate, which will support ABB in its renovation efforts.

"The city of Auburn Hills has been good to our company and we are excited to continue our long-standing history in this location. ABB will be able to focus on sustaining and growing our business in the automotive and general industry sectors, while also allowing us to stay cost-competitive," said Kirk Goins, president, ABB Robotics North America.
