Tech Soft 3D's Road Map for Using HOOPS as 3D Development Platform for Windows Vista

BERKELEY, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Feb 05, 2008 -- Tech Soft 3D (TS3D) today announced a free webcast, which it will conduct with Microsoft Corp. at 9 a.m. PST, Tuesday, Feb. 19, to provide a road map for building and migrating software applications to Direct3D using HOOPS to utilize the full power of Windows Vista.

HOOPS is TS3D's proven 2D/3D rapid-development platform for high-performance applications that enables software developers to take full advantage of Direct3D, Microsoft's 3D subsystem within the DirectX API. HOOPS' rich set of APIs enables programmers to jumpstart application development and reduce total research and development costs while accelerating project delivery.

"By harnessing the power of Direct3D, developers can address the growing performance demands of technical computing, take advantage of the latest graphics hardware innovations and ultimately provide customers with a superior experience on Windows Vista," said Simon Floyd, Worldwide Industry Technology Strategist for Product Lifecycle Management at Microsoft. "We're excited to participate with Tech Soft 3D in this webcast and eager to communicate the value of using HOOPS to get the most out of Direct3D and Windows Vista."

"They'll also hear how HOOPS enables software developers to smooth the migration of existing applications and take full advantage of Direct3D."

The webcast will include a live demonstration of the benefits of HOOPS and Direct3D on Windows Vista, and discussion of the advantages of the new shader-based rendering paradigm versus the traditional fixed-function approach.
