Previously, Rowell was executive editor of Innovate Forum, and also an industry analyst/editor with consulting firm Cyon Research. Her publishing industry experience spans senior editorial management positions with engineering and design-centric media outlets including MCADCafe, Cadence magazine, and Computer Graphics World magazine. Additionally, Rowell’s experience includes technical marketing and market research for several leading manufacturing firms. “Amy is a highly regarded industry analyst and editor in the high tech/manufacturing sector with an excellent understanding of topics related to PLM, innovation, globalization and new product development,” said Steve Robbins, CEO of Level 5 Communications. “We are very fortunate to have such a highly-accomplished professional of Amy’s caliber and her 20+ years of market experience to lead DE’s editorial team.” In her role as editorial director, Rowell plans to build upon DE’s editorial excellence in print and online. “We plan to increase DE’s industry-leading coverage on HPC and analysis, and to provide insight into the issues surrounding 2D to 3D migration,” she said. “DE will also expand its coverage in critical areas such as product and process innovation, rapid manufacturing, and design collaboration.” Rowell graduated from Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam , NY with a Bachelor of Science in Technical Marketing/Mechanical Engineering.
