October 5, 2007 - Fort Washington, PA – PartMaker Inc., a subsidiary of Delcam Plc, has announced that the latest version of its PartMaker suite of CAM products has been awarded “Certified CAM Product” status by the SolidWorks Corporation Partner Program.
To attain this certification, the PartMaker suite of products met certain criteria outlined by SolidWorks Corp. and demonstrated a high level interoperability with the most recent version of SolidWorks 3D CAD software. The certification is granted by SolidWorks once the product has been approved after a rigorous testing and technical review process.
The Certified CAM Product designation was developed by SolidWorks to help end users easily identify best-in-class CNC software products that work well with SolidWorks geometry. The Certified CAM Product award indicates that, in the view of SolidWorks Corp., PartMaker has demonstrated “world class CAM functionality, integration and interoperability with SolidWorks applications and associative design changes.”

The latest PartMaker Version, Version 8, features a wide range of improvements including enhancements to the system’s general functionality, improvements in 3D simulation, handling of solid models and optimization of 3D surface machining operations. PartMaker Version 8 also marks the introduction of the PartMaker Full Machine Simulation module, an optional module which allows the user to view a photo realistic 3D model of the machine for which they are programming a part.
PartMaker users can directly import SolidWorks files in their native *.SLDPRT format, as well as host of other solids formats supported by SolidWorks. PartMaker Version 8 makes working with imported solid models more productive than ever before. Machining Profiles are automatically extracted from parts with a single mouse click. Verification of tool paths can now be seen directly on the solid model for all operations. Solid model assemblies can also be directly imported as well.
