SyMech, Inc. Introduces Free Trial Download of SyMech™ Synthesis Software

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- SyMech, Inc., a San Francisco-based company at the forefront of mechanism design, announces the Free Trial Download of its SyMech™ Synthesis Software, available at SyMech Synthesis Software is a module that works within Parametric Technology Corporation’s Pro/ENGINEER™ to allow engineers and designers to design mechanisms in seconds.

SyMech’s Free Trial Download marks the first time that a Pro/ENGINEER module has been offered in a demo version directly from the Internet. This new approach will make evaluating the new software uniquely accessible to engineers and designers worldwide, and, according to SyMech CEO Jonathan Cook, enables anyone running Pro/ENGINEER to try out the software immediately, for no charge.

"Our goal is to change the way people design mechanisms," Cook said. "After downloading the trial version, engineers will be able to create mechanisms in seconds using Function First™ technology. No longer will people have to spend weeks or months of iteration to find a mechanism to meet their function."

Mike Alexander, Pro/ENGINEER Administrator at Seagate and President of the Southern California Pro/USER group, was enthusiastic about the Free Trial Download. "As soon as I started Pro/ENGINEER I realized the SyMech software was already working. You don't expect that type of ease from a third party Pro/ENGINEER module." He added, "People who saw Jonathan's demonstration of the SyMech Synthesis Software at the last Southern California Pro/USER conference have been waiting for this."

SyMech Synthesis Software enables designers and engineers to create mechanisms in seconds directly inside of Pro/ENGINEER, cutting time and cost to fractions of their current levels. This product represents a dramatic shift away from the traditional Design-Build-Test paradigm of creating mechanisms, which can take days, weeks, or even months. Instead, SyMech utilizes patent-pending Function First™ technology, allowing the designer to define the mechanism’s desired function at the outset and achieve the optimal design in seconds.
