Wellspring Solutions Leverages IBM WebSphere to Deliver Adaptive Business Control Solutions to Manufacturing and Process Industry Customers

Santa Ana, Calif., September 10, 2001 --- Wellspring Solutions, a leading provider of web-enabled workflow and business process control solutions for the manufacturing and energy industries, today announced an expanded relationship with IBM. Wellspring Solutions is now an IBM PartnerWorld for Software Premier Business Partner.

Companies will now be able to leverage IBM WebSphere* e-infrastructure software with Wellspring Solutions' industry expertise and rapid development methodology for adaptive business control solutions. The relationship unites IBM's WebSphere, MQ Series* with Wellspring Solutions' OAenterprise software to facilitate automatic control of devices and shared business processes in real-time. This object-oriented technology integrates with legacy applications and is a key differentiator that allows for ease of installation, maintenance, and scalability.

"Working with companies like Wellspring to provide complementary solutions for IBM WebSphere is part of our commitment to deliver leading-edge e-business integration solutions," said Rob Lamb, director, Business Process Management for IBM. "This relationship will offer businesses the power of WebSphere to enable real-time process control based on open standards, supporting rapid development, ease of maintenance, reusability, and scalability."

By working with IBM, Wellspring expects to offer industry solutions for web-enabled plant, enterprise, and B2B automation in the manufacturing, process, and energy industries focusing on supply chain management, relationship management, and business operations. This includes workflow and process control, legacy systems integration, and mobile/pervasive computing. Such solutions could enable enterprises, trading partners, and networks to accelerate time to market, improve quality and customer satisfaction, increase margins, and reduce costs. The key to the solution is Wellspring Solutions' real-time, parallel process control architecture. The OAenterprise solution provides unique, event-driven, advanced workflow capable, Java-based solutions that are unique to these industries. Wellspring Solutions' services methodology allows for rapid implementations and quick project payouts.

"We're excited to team with IBM in this relationship," says Chuck Harris, Wellspring Solutions' president and CEO. "We believe that our customers will benefit from IBM's world-class WebSphere e-infrastructure and development tools, e-business strategy and leadership."
