OneGIS Announces Completion of GIS Implementation for the City of Dyersburg, Tennessee’s Electric System

Dyersburg Electric System (DES) Expands Use of GIS with Additional ESRI Software

Atlanta GA, June 7, 2007 –
OneGIS is pleased to announce that it has completed its work on a Geographic Information System (GIS) for the City of Dyersburg with the installation of ArcGIS® Publisher™ and ArcReader™ from ESRI® for the Dyersburg Electric System. These licenses were installed and configured to run in conjunction with OneGIS’ previous implementation of ESRI GIS licenses of ArcGIS Server™ Enterprise – Basic and ArcEditor™ as well as ArcFM™ and ArcFM Viewer™ licenses from Telvent Miner & Miner. OneGIS provided overall project management as well as installation, configuration and customization services. The process of converting the City’s CAD map drawings into the ArcFM geodatabase was handled by Southeast Reprographics, Inc. (SRI) of Alpharetta, Georgia.

In addition to the ArcGIS and ArcFM implementation, OneGIS provided integration services by building interfaces between the GIS and the City’s Engineering Analysis (EA) system. This interface was built utilizing the available ArcFM Multispeak™ data model from Telvent Miner & Miner. In addition, OneGIS developed a custom interface between ArcFM and the City’s Customer Information System (CIS). This interface utilized an ODBC connection between the two systems to accommodate data transfer. The initial ArcFM system has been in production since January of this year.

Dyersburg Electric System is the largest supplier of electricity in Dyer County, Tennessee with 12,200 customers. It serves the City of Dyersburg, three industrial parks and neighboring residents. Dyersburg receives its electricity from the TVA at three 161,000-volt delivery points and provides 400 megawatts of capacity to its serving territory.

Alan Davis, DES GIS Manager commented, “The OneGIS consultants who implemented our GIS all exhibited a real can-do, will-do attitude needed for this project and were instrumental in getting the system completed to our satisfaction. I would recommend OneGIS to others wanting to implement a productive, integrated GIS.”

“We are pleased to be able to successfully complete the Dyersburg system and add them to our growing list of clients, which now totals close to 50.” stated Chris Cirillo, OneGIS President, “We had four different individuals involved in the separate phases of the Dyersburg project, which just goes to show the technical range of expertise within our company. We hope to continue to support and expand Dyersburg’s installation with additional software applications and enhancements in the future.”
