February 12, 2007 -- Portland, Oregon — Autodsys (
http://www.autodsys.com/ ) today announced AcceliCAD 2007, a new CAD platform that provides compatibility with industry standard file formats, commands, and methods, yet at a much lower overall cost.
“AcceliCAD 2007 contains exciting new features that will give users a more pleasurable CAD drawing experience.”, said Ronald Prepchuk, President of Autodsys. “Users have been clamoring for an alternative that allows them to continue to use the drawings and customization files they have become accustomed to over many years” he continued, “while providing the accuracy and stability they need to be productive.”
AcceliCAD 2007’s features include floating prompt menus that put command options right at the cursor location, allowing users to easily select the right choice. Heads-up keyboard entry allows angles, distances and text to be entered without looking at the keyboard. Polar angle tracking will snap the cursor to non-orthogonal angles, as well as extend lines between two points. An entity information dialog provides additional feedback as the user draws, allowing him to verify the accuracy of his work. In addition, AcceliCAD has a full-color 32bit user interface with transparencies which allows for a more pleasing experience and easier migration from other CAD platforms.
Additional enhancements include bitmap fills for irregular shapes, a block manager and autolayer manager, and a bonus toolkit that includes more than 75 tools for editing and annotating drawings.
AcceliCAD is based on the popular IntelliCAD software and contains all of its standard features including DWG file support as well as support for industry standard commands, menu files, script files, shape files, text fonts, hatch patterns, linetypes, LISP programs, SDS/C++ programs, and VBA programs. It also contains many advanced features that make it easier to create and edit DWG files. AcceliCAD is expected to be released in December with a suggested retail price of $375.
