Denver, CO – February 01, 2007 --AshBridge Media LLC today announced that it has acquired CADCAMNet and Engineering Automation Report, the highly regarded journal of engineering automation news, from Cyon Research. An online subscription-based journal founded and published by L. Stephen Wolfe, PE, CADCAMNet was combined with Engineering Automation Report when Cyon Research acquired it in 2004.
AshBridge Media LLC, is jointly owned by Rachael Dalton-Taggart and Randall Newton, both CAD industry veterans. Both individuals have been operating, editing, and publishing CADCAMNet since September 2006 on behalf of Cyon Research and have now opted to take ownership of the property. In addition, AshBridge Media is looking to bring on board other web-based properties to gain editorial and publishing synergy.
"We are focused on taking some great editorial properties and building their value. Our first aim is to build a strong editorial team that will extend the excellent reputation created by Cyon Research and Randall Newton," commented Rachael Dalton-Taggart, publisher. "We hope to increase and diversify the content in the publications, with an eye to how readership for such journals is evolving."
Cyon Research has divested several online properties recently as the company moves into a focus on its highly successful COFES events and its consulting practice. The executive-level COFES (Congress On the Future of Engineering Software), now in its eighth year, is one of Cyon Research's more visible industry achievements. In the last twelve months COFES has expanded from US shores to a Summit event in New Delhi, India, last November. COFES 2007 is scheduled for April 12-15, 2007 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Cyon Research has also been busy building a strong consulting team across all the CAD verticals including PLM, EDA, and AEC.
"CADCAMNet will be our flagship publication and will continue to offer first-rate reporting and guidance for its subscribers," said Randall Newton, editor-in-chief. "In addition, we are also planning strategies for extending the reach of our coverage under the new banner of the Engineering Automation Network."
Cyon Research no longer owns the publication, although Brad Holtz, CEO of Cyon Research and Joel Orr, Chief Visionary of Cyon Research, will remain Contributing Editors. Articles from a range of analyst and consulting firms will continue to be included in CADCAMNet's "The Expert's View" column.
