Kineo CAM Releases KPP-SDK

Labège, France , December 4th, 2006:  Kineo C.A.M. announces the release of its brand new KPP-SDK™ software solution.

KPP-SDK™ is built on KPP™ software product and allows the user to develop his own custom and proprietary modules through standard Application Programming Interfaces (API).

A lot of our customers were asking for specific features which were difficult to consider as part of the general roadmap of the KPP™ new releases. Some times it was too specific, some other times the content was too confidential to be exposed.” explains Etienne Ferré, the Kineo CAM’s CTO. “KPP-SDK™ brings an effective answer; the user will continue to benefit from all the existing features and capabilities of KPP™ and he will be able to enrich it with his proprietary functions by its own or by our service team while keeping the IPs”.

KPP™ combines CAD readers, 3D engine, collision detection, interference analyzer to compute and validate system’s motion. With its KPP-Device™ module for easily editing complex kinematics of articulated systems, it covers a large range of uses like Manufacturing robots, Medical robots or highly articulated Nuclear systems.

KPP-SDK™ opens KPP™ standard API to extend the fields of use in many ways, for example:

-        adding physical properties in motion,

-        connecting external devices like haptic, 3D recognition device,

-        linking KPP™ to specific customer’s 3D database,

-        creating dedicated Robot simulator and real-time monitoring,

-        implementing task planning and scheduling,

-        integrating customer’s business constraints in simulation,

-        specifying trajectory optimizations,

-        writing proprietary CAD readers,

-        generating Mannequin ergonomic postures,

-        embedding GUI-less KPP™ engine in industrial systems,


Two early customers have been already delivered with KPP-SDK™, the Japanese AIST– French CNRS joint robotic laboratory “JRL” and a worldwide leading automobile constructor in Japan. KPP-SDK™ general availability is forecasted in 2007 Q1.
