Announcement further demonstrates the two companies' on-going commitment to work together to provide industry leading, best-in-class CAD/CAM solutions.

MOORPARK, CA - October 26, 2006 - Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM®, software for programming CNC machine tools, announced today that UGS has approved GibbsCAM as a "Certified Select Product" for Solid Edge®. The certification process, which is part of the Solid Edge Voyager Partner Program, required completing extensive test procedures using Solid Edge Version 19. The tests, performed rigorously, exercised the integration between Solid Edge and GibbsCAM, to ensure a continued high-level of interoperability between the latest versions of the two applications.

GibbsCAM customers have the choice of reading Solid Edge model files directly, or they can transfer models from within their Solid Edge session directly to GibbsCAM using the Solid Edge-to- GibbsCAM Part Transfer Add-In allowing them maximum flexibility in how they work. The Add-In is included free of charge as part of each GibbsCAM release and can also be downloaded from the online support section on GibbsCAM web site.

"Working directly with Solid Edge, we were able to maintain a high level of interoperability between our products," says Bill Gibbs, founder/president of Gibbs and Associates. "As a result, the Solid Edge/GibbsCAM combination continues to deliver incredible value and performance to customers allowing them to maximize their productivity and efficiency."

Full associativity between Solid Edge geometry, process and toolpath allows GibbsCAM to accommodate design model changes and update associated machining processes. Changes to process parameters, such as tooling changes, speed and feed rates, can also be easily accommodated at any time.

Because GibbsCAM and Solid Edge are both based on the Parasolid modeling kernel, not only is the need for data translation eliminated, but both systems evaluate the model exactly the same way preventing geometric differences from being introduced. This ensures that the part geometry will be machined exactly as designed resulting in the highest degree of accuracy in the finished product.
