The conference is also seeking papers exploring the unique design issues and challenges related to automotive applications for its Automotive Electronics theme. Some of the system design areas that are especially critical in automotive applications relate to the integration of advanced consumer electronic devices, including navigation and entertainment systems, as well as ensuring safety systems meet compliance requirements.
"The DAC community is instrumental in enabling the development of all of the latest innovations in electronics and bringing the latest ideas to reality, enhancing all aspects of life," said Sachin Sapatnekar, 44th DAC technical program co-chair. "We are excited to provide a forum for the truly revolutionary and controversial ideas at the 44th DAC with this new WACI track. In addition, we expect the Automotive Electronics theme to highlight a critical application area for integrated systems today and bring new insights for our attendees."
The submission deadline for regular papers and WACI submissions is Monday, November 20, at 5 p.m. MST. Authors whose papers are selected will be notified by email by March 9, 2007. Proposals for special sessions, panels and tutorials are due on Wednesday, November 1, at 5 p.m. MST. Selected authors will present their accepted submissions in technical sessions, tutorials and panels at the 44th DAC to be held June 4-8, 2007, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego. All submissions must be made electronically at the DAC Web site, www.dac.com.
