LMS extends the LMS Test.Xpress noise and vibration analyzer with local language support and CAN-bus interface

Leuven, BelgiumSeptember 29, 2006 – LMS, the engineering innovation company, introduced local language versions of LMS Test.Xpress, its noise and vibration analyzer and data recording solution. The complete user interface of the LMS Test.Xpress software is now available in 7 languages. Next to the English version, users can switch to Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean or Russian. In addition, LMS Test.Xpress also gains new functionality to integrate data captured through a USB connected CAN-bus interface, which offers optimal convenience and efficiency for automotive testing applications.

LMS Test.Xpress is a no-compromise noise and vibration analyzer that combines the operational simplicity of the traditional analyzer with the high-speed performance and measurement quality of an advanced noise & vibration measurement system. LMS Test.Xpress offers an extensive set of certification testing and troubleshooting capabilities and covers a broad range of noise and vibration application areas for automotive and ground vehicle, aerospace, consumer and business products, white goods, outdoor equipment and power tools, industrial equipment and heavy machinery.

LMS Test.Xpress runs on the LMS SCADAS Mobile front-end which offers a powerful, compact and lightweight hardware package.

The real-time measurement capabilities of LMS Test.Xpress allow users to perform FFT, order and octave analysis with sound level meter functionalities in a single measurement run. LMS Test.Xpress shows the analysis results instantaneously on screen, while saving the high-sampled time data on disk. Users can validate results immediately after the test, while the system gives a first diagnosis on the spot and brings results in an MS Office report in just a single mouse click. LMS Test.Xpress is fully interoperable with the LMS Test.Lab suite for advanced post processing of test data.

The integration of CAN-bus data allows automotive test engineers to capture a broad range of measurement parameters during vehicle testing, without having to add additional instrumentation. The data captured through the CAN-bus automatically synchronizes with the other frontend channels. This enables users to correlate noise and vibration test data to other vehicle parameters like ABS signals from the brakes, or pressures and temperatures of the different vehicle components to gain more insight during every testing run.
