OPEN MIND And Emuge Extend Alliance

A manufacturer’s main objective is to continuously improve productivity and deliver high-quality components to their customers. Often this entails staying abreast of the latest in machine tool and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. This is why the North American subsidiaries of EMUGE and OPEN MIND Technologies AG are extending longstanding and mutually beneficial partnership developing progressive and efficient products in Europe to North America.

The new EMUGE Tech Center in West Boylston, MA (USA) offers customers a unique opportunity to evaluate new technology solutions. Display pieces and customer parts are programmed here with OPEN MIND’s hyperMILL® and then milled on a HERMLE C30U using EMUGE tools. “This is an ideal arrangement for demonstrating our milling tools and for determining our customers’ requirements in detail,” says Peter Matysiak, President of EMUGE.

Managing Director Alan Levine of OPEN MIND Technologies USA Inc. adds: “A successful CAM software company has partnerships with machine tool vendors and key suppliers like EMUGE, and can take results to the shop floor to gain practical experiences on how to apply the software. Application results with partners are also returned to our product development group and frequently enables hyperMILL to be one of the first CAM solutions to integrate machining strategies for new and innovative tools.”

hyperMILL® – a CAM solution with high-end strategies
hyperMILL® integrates fully developed feature technology, which considerably minimizes programming effort due to feature recognition and transfer, hole and pocket features as well as a feature list and feature browser. Maximum flexibility is guaranteed through 2D, 3D, HSC and innovative 5-axis modules, all under an intuitive user interface. The postprocessors, tailored to specific machines, controllers and manufacturing processes, ensure that the CAM programs are processed seamlessly on the machine. For companies this means a uniform manufacturing concept and a flawless machining process with the best possible results
