Metris completes integration of LK, 3D Scanners and Arc Second

Leuven, September 14th 2006 - Metris, the provider of reliable, innovative solutions for dimensional metrology, today announced the completion of the integration of LK Ltd. (Derby, UK), 3D Scanners Ltd. (London, UK) and Arc Second Inc. (Virginia, Washington, USA), companies that were previously acquired in January 2006 . The integrated Metris group is the leading innovating company in the micro metrology industry.

The integration included an alignment to the Metris identity and restructuring of the businesses to optimize efficiency, product development and service quality for the Metris customers. This phase has now been successfully completed.

Bart Van Coppenolle, President and CEO, Metris, comments: “The integration process has proceeded very well within the scheduled time frame. It is a great tribute to all employees and has truly been a team effort. We have taken the best of the practices from each company to create a winning organization for our business and our customers.”

The enlarged group has emerged as a leading independent Total Solutions Provider to the metrology industry. The integration of LK, Arc Second and 3D scanners has brought Metris greater scale, geographical reach and above product assets and technical competence resulting in a total solution for automotive, aerospace and general industry metrology. Bart van Coppenolle added: “We now have a strong foothold in Europe, US and Asia Pacific and are well positioned to capture additional market share.”

The integration of the recent acquisitions already resulted in new product releases such as the handheld scanners ModelMaker D and K-Scan MMZ. These releases nicely illustrate the strong interaction and drive between the members of the unified marketing and development teams.
