3D Systems Ships Dental Pro System

ROCK HILL, S.C.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Sept. 5, 2006— 3D Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: TDSC), a leading provider of rapid 3-D Printing, Prototyping and Manufacturing solutions, announced today that it has shipped its 10th InVision(R) DP 3-D Printer. The InVision(R) DP (Dental Professional) lab system was introduced earlier this year at the 2006 LMT LabDay show in Chicago and became commercially available at the beginning of the third quarter. It represents the first Rapid Manufacturing systems specifically designed for the dental industry.

"We are excited and proud to be able to provide dental labs with this revolutionary new rapid manufacturing solution designed to help them improve their bottom line," said Abe Reichental, 3D Systems' president and chief executive officer. "Our first customers have all already reported outstanding results. Some have seen an immediate productivity increase of 25% or the ability to produce 70 units per day only 3 days after installation, others have enthusiastically shared with us that they are able to reduce precious and semi precious alloy consumption up to 50%."

The InVision(R) DP 3-D Printer quickly and efficiently produces castable wax-ups for copings and bridges for up to 16 elements from scans and designs done directly in the dental lab. It provides dental labs with an integrated solution that includes a 3-D Scanner, design software and a customized InVision(R)3-D Printer.

"We are certain that the InVision(R) Dental Professional system will continue to demonstrate tremendous benefits to its users," continued Reichental. "What dental labs need today is the ability to increase their productivity, improve the quality, consistency and delivery of their product to dentist's offices. Our comprehensive, turnkey InVision(R) DP system enables dental labs to transition smoothly from current legacy techniques to the digital mass customization age."

With the launch of a system targeted to the dental lab industry, 3D Systems is responding to the growing demand for rapid and affordable dental services. Currently, dental labs in the United States produce approximately 55 million dental prostheses annually, and with the ever-growing emphasis on improved dental health and cosmetic appearance, this volume is steadily increasing.
