Design & Manufacturing Expand At Aubrey Group

IRVINE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Aug. 30, 2006— Aubrey Group, Inc., a Southern California engineering firm and contract manufacturer specializing in complex electro-mechanical medical instruments, has announced the opening of its new facility. The new 30,000 sq. ft. facility doubles the available floor space to support product development and contract manufacturing growth. According to Vytas Pazemenas, President and Founder of Aubrey Group, a number of very talented engineers have recently joined the company to support the expansion. "It took extensive searches and personal contacts to find the talented, creative engineers we need," explains Pazemenas. "But, we continue to look for 'the few good men or women' who love developing medical products that have not existed before."

Aubrey Group's move to larger facilities comes in response to strong client demand for increased services. In the last few years, medical device investment has been on the rise. Since Aubrey Group works closely with start-ups, incubators, and entrepreneurs, increased medical device investment has directly translated into increased demand for its services.

Instrument development projects at Aubrey Group have included blood collection and separation devices, ultrasound cardiac ablation systems, bio-artificial liver systems, infusion pumps, RF generators, implantable sensors, centrifugal blood pumps, patient monitors, telemedicine systems, dental perioscopes, and ophthalmic surgery controllers. Clients include Alere Medical, specialists in telemedicine for congestive heart failure home patients, Epicor Medical -- now St. Jude Medical -- experts in high intensity focused ultrasound cardiac ablation, Mission Medical -- now Terumo Medical -- experts in collection and separation of donated blood, Thoratec, a worldwide leader in circulatory support and vascular graft technology, and many other highly-innovative medical technology developers.
