Seemage Eliminates CAD Drawings
Seemage announced that Alcatel Alenia Space, a global player in satellite space programs has increased its performance and efficiency with Seemage's solutions. The Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) division of Alcatel Alenia Space validates and qualifies satellites under design and construction. Alcatel Alenia Space turned to Seemage to improve product collaboration, creation of technical publications and the definition of assembly instructions. AIT's Pierre Lipsky needed to significantly reduce the cost and delivery time of the satellite validation processes. "I had to work along two axes: solve the difficulties in working with large assemblies in CATIA V4 and find a way to repurpose CAD data from multiple CAD tools in order to improve the processes of the integration engineers and assembly planners," he said. AIT has expanded the use of Seemage's software across the entire product lifecycle. This fall AIT will completely eliminate CAD-generated drawings. Instead, operators will use the Seemage suite of tools to validate designs, installation procedures, and general assembly steps.
