HighRES Partners With Rhinoceros

LA JOLLA, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—July 18, 2006— HighRES, Inc., providers of computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) integrated 3D reverse engineering and digitizing software products, has announced a partnership with Robert McNeel & Associates, makers of Rhinoceros (Rhino), 3D modeling tools for designers and engineers.

The announced partnership between Rhino and HighRES is expected by many to be beneficial for both parties. Rhino users will soon see more advanced and integrated 3D reverse engineering features that can be used with the FARO, ROMER, MicroScribe, BIG portable CMMs and digitizers. This addition to an already robust set of features is sure to have a significant impact on Rhino's far-reaching customer base.

HighRES, Inc. has integrated its complete suite of digitizing functionality into Rhino, including ball-tip compensation, advanced repeatable alignments, Cut-plane fitting, and best fit geometries including circles, cylinders, spheres, planes and more. Also included will be a series of tutorials on both inspection and reverse engineering.

"HighRES integrates its full suite of reverse engineering and verification tools to Rhino 3.0," says Braxton Carter, HighRES Chief Technology Officer. "The end user can now do 'CAD to Part' repeatable alignments, digitize by time and distance to speed up the inspection process, 'best fit planes' and probe compensation to accurately measure features for inspection as well as a multitude of advanced reverse engineering tasks."

The HighRES programming team has worked closely with the McNeel & Associates technical team to add unique features as a direct response to Rhino end-user requests, feedback and expressed interest. These advanced and industrial features have been added for the soon to be released HighRES for Rhino Product.

"With the HighRES products, Rhino users now have the most advanced tools for both reverse engineering and inspection completely integrated in Rhino," explains Scott Davidson, Rhino marketing manager. "The HighRes tools provide a new level of productivity for many Rhino users."
