General Dynamics Acquires Chamberlain Manufacturing Operations

FALLS CHURCH, Va., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has completed its acquisition of the Scranton, Penn., division of Chamberlain Manufacturing Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Elmhurst, Ill.-based Duchossois Industries, Inc. Plans for the acquisition were announced May 17; terms were not disclosed. The acquisition is immediately accretive to General Dynamics.

The organization, which will be known as General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems-Scranton Operations, has approximately 400 employees and is a leading supplier of large-caliber projectile metal parts to the U.S. government, including forged bodies for 105mm artillery, 120mm mortars and 155mm artillery ammunition. St. Petersburg, Fla.-based General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is a world leader in the manufacture of large- and medium-caliber direct- and indirect-fire munitions, bomb bodies and Ball Powder(R) propellant, as well as precision metal components, shaped-charge warheads and control actuator systems.
