McNerney leads the Chicago-based, $54.8 billion aerospace company. Boeing is the United States' largest exporter. The company's relationship with China has continued to grow since the early 1970s.
"The US-China Business Council has been the leading organization assisting American companies doing business with China for 33 years," said McNerney, whose own professional experience with China includes a period from 1992 to 1995, when he served in-region as senior vice president, Asia Pacific, for General Electric. "I am pleased to lead an organization that works so effectively to eliminate barriers and build opportunities in China."

McNerney succeeds Mike Eskew, chairman and CEO of UPS, as USCBC chair.
