MFG.com Launches New Tool To Further Empower Buyers

Atlanta, June 5, 2006 - MFG.com, an online marketplace serving the manufacturing community today announced a suite of tools, designed using Flex, which significantly improves the buyer’s user experience. The new tools simplify the process to create an RFQ by increasing both flexibility and efficiency throughout the duration of the RFQ creation.

“To thrive as a company you must provide your customers with a great experience,” said Mitch Free, founder and CEO of MFG.com. “Experience matters to our customers and it matters to us. Our new tool offers outstanding performance capabilities, ease of use and customized optimization, further simplifying the quoting process. With this new tool, we are helping our buyers to continually raise the bar by more effectively submitting RFQs to enable better buying decisions for their customized parts.”

The new tool provides buyers with several new features that help to simplify the quoting process. New features allow users to:

•        mark RFQs which may be restricted under ITAR (International Traffic and Arms Regulation)
•        search by function on the engineering process list
•        view distribution of whom the RFQ will be sent to, prior to their release enabling users to add, remove and narrow down suppliers from the pre-selected distribution list
•        mouse over functions for help

In addition, there are now step-by-step video instructions for each step in the process and as always our customer service representatives are available by phone, live chat and email.

“The RFQ process is all about time – finding the right supplier with the right capacity at the right time,” said Josh Huskin, Purchasing Manager, Panoz Auto Development. “We are looking forward to a new tool that will allow us to source smarter and faster by having a more simplified and flexible RFQ submission process that matches us with suppliers in real-time. With MFG.com’s new tool, we will be able to customize our distribution list before the RFQ is released in an effort to tailor the RFQ to better meet our requirements and needs.”

On Tuesday, June 6th at 2:00 p.m. EDT, CEO Mitch Free will be hosting a webcast to review how to maximize the user experience with the new RFQ tools. For more information on attending the webcast, please send an email to Email Contact.

MFG.com has more than 40,000 buyers across the industrial spectrum (aerospace, transportation, consumer products, electronics and more) that use the site to source, collaborate, and receive quotes online for more than 200 manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, metal stamping, forging, plastic molding, metal fabrication and metal casting.
