DP Technology To Demo Latest Release Of ESPRIT

Camarillo, Calif.—Mar. 9, 2006— Built upon the success of its previous product releases, DP Technology Corp. is proud to feature its latest CAM software, ESPRIT 2006 and ESPRIT Mold, at EASTEC 2006 in West Springfield, Mass. from May 23-25. DP Technology will be running demos and giving informative presentations on booth #5404.

Featuring functionality that emphasizes higher cutting speeds, longer tool life and suitability to increasingly complex geometry, ESPRIT 2006 is comprehensive in its ability to handle today’s most advanced machine tools and demanding machining applications.

ESPRIT Mold is the latest release within the ESPRIT CAM software family, and incorporates over twelve years of accumulated expertise and comprehensive technology within the areas of 3-axis, 5-axis and high-speed machining.

ESPRIT Mold 3-axis Machining

Utilizing knowledge of in-process stock, remaining material, and integrated simulation and verification ESPRIT Mold delivers fast, safe and reliable programming
for a wide variety of 3D machining applications. With 20 different milling strategies, ESPRIT Mold automatically manages the in-process stock model, allowing the user to combine milling strategies from 2 ½-axis to 5-axis for optimized tool paths.

ESPRIT Mold 3+2 Machining optimizes machining for improved surface finish utilizing A and B axes to incline the cutting tools. The use of shorter, more rigid
cutting tools and direct machining of undercut areas is therefore possible. With complete security, all rapid movements between machining zones, even with different index angles, are automatically generated collision free with respect to the in-process stock.

New Turning cycles

The latest developments within ESPRIT 2006 include new grooving cycles which have been added to support advances in cutting tool geometry and machine tool design, including machines capable of turning while utilizing a B-axis. These new grooving cycles offer the following key functionalities: any-tool orientation utilizing a B-axis, new pre-finish options, expanded finish pass control—enhanced for NC compensation, optimized step-over calculations, additional roughing patterns, and support for casting stock.
