Comtek Expands Aerospace And Defense Manufacturing

PHOENIX, AZ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 15, 2006 -- Comtek Advanced Structures ("Comtek") announced today that it has leased 18,000 square feet of additional manufacturing space in a second building adjacent to its current operations in Burlington, Ontario. The new facility is being refurbished and will be occupied in early June, at which time Comtek will have a total of 53,000 square feet under management in Canada plus a further 32,000 square feet at its Phoenix, Arizona location. The new space will house Comtek's floor panel manufacturing operations, which consist of contracted production for Bombardier Aerospace on the CRJ-700, CRJ-900 and Q400 programs, plus Comtek's broad portfolio of proprietary aftermarket floor panel products.

"The additional space is essential to support our rapidly growing manufacturing operations, and having it right next door will help us to maintain operational efficiencies at a high level," said Alistair Davie, Comtek Vice President and COO. "The ramp-up of Airbus A-380 production over the next few months, coupled with the demands of major propulsion systems projects for General Electric, Pratt & Whitney and Honeywell, plus the wide range of new manufacturing opportunities that we see based on our resin infusion technology, made expansion an absolute necessity."
