CIMdata estimates UGS' cPDM revenue is significantly higher than that of the nearest PLM vendor; findings underscore Teamcenter's market strength with more than two million seats in production globally
The Market Analysis Report provides in-depth data and analysis of the PLM market and builds on information released by CIMdata in April 2006. Based on market estimates, the CIMdata report ranked UGS number one in terms of market presence among cPDM mindshare leaders in 2005. The report also signals the health and growth of the UGS Partner Program.
"UGS with Teamcenter continues to be the leading vendor realizing the most revenue in the critical area of cPDM for the third year in a row," said Ed Miller, president of CIMdata. "UGS' Teamcenter portfolio remains the cornerstone of their PLM and cPDM strength."
According to CIMdata, cPDM is forecast to be the fastest-growing segment of the PLM market with a 13.9 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to exceed $11.6 billon in 2010 -- nearly twice as fast as other PLM sub-segments. CIMdata estimates that the PLM market as a whole will grow at a CAGR of 7.7 percent to approximately $26 billion by 2010."
Market analysts once again recognize UGS' leadership position in this critical area of PLM -- cPDM and for the third year in a row, UGS' cPDM presence far outpaced that of the nearest PLM vendor," said Dave Shirk, executive vice president of global marketing for UGS. "CIMdata cites that our strong revenue along with the revenue from our partners is an indicator of the success of our open business strategy and ability to form strategic, beneficial partnerships with multiple major systems integrators and software vendors. UGS remains committed to the global innovation networks that the world's leading manufacturers are leveraging to build the most innovative products."
UGS' Strength in cPDM
