MOORPARK, CA - March 15, 2006 - Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM® computer-aided manufacturing software for programming CNC machine tools, announced that they will be demonstrating the latest GibbsCAM interoperability at National Design Engineering Show and Conference 2006 (NDES), held March 21-23, 2006 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. "Being able to exchange product data between CAD and CAM is critical for production," explains Bill Gibbs, found and president of Gibbs and Associates. "After all, if you can't read it, you can't machine it. Gibbs and our strategic CAD partners continue to work together to ensure that CAD models are read flawlessly into GibbsCAM for machining." Along with GibbsCAM's extended direct read of Autodesk Inventor, CATIA V4, CATIA V5, Pro/ENGEINEER Wildfire, Solid Edge, SolidWorks model files capability, Gibbs will also demonstrate the latest versions of the SolidWorks-to-GibbsCAM transfer add-in that is fully compatible with SolidWorks 2006. The add-in allows users to transfer product models directly from within SolidWorks into GibbsCAM to quickly develop efficient CNC programs for machining. GibbsCAM's associativity also provides a straightforward means to update previously defined toolpath reflecting changes to the SolidWorks model. GibbsCAM's associativity between part geometry, process and toolpath allows easy updates to accommodate design changes.
