Marquardt Switch Adopts Actify's SpinFire For Microsoft Office

SAN FRANCISCO—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Jan. 31, 2006— Actify Inc., the global leader in digital design communication solutions, today announced that Marquardt Switch, a provider of switches for the automotive, power tool and household appliance/industrial applications industries, has adopted SpinFire for Microsoft Office. Through the use of SpinFire Professional, Marquardt has realized productivity gains in internationally run automotive design projects through easier access, distribution and communication of 2D and 3D CAD designs and data.

"Given that Marquardt has a more differentiated product range than our competitors, we needed a tool that would allow entire project teams, from product development to assembly and end of line test engineers, to work together utilizing the same solid models," said RJ Prossner, Project Leader, Marquardt Switches. "SpinFire's easy-to-use tools and interactive functions have allowed us to do this. Without a doubt, SpinFire is allowing us to save money through productivity gains due to our ability to better communicate designs and associated data with either CAD users or non-CAD users throughout our organization and supply chain."

As a supplier and system partner of the electrical power tool, household appliance, electronic and automotive industry, Marquardt has more than 3,000 employees worldwide and a total sales of 323 Million Euro. The company bases its success on product innovation and invests more than 7% of annual sales in research and development of new products. Currently, Marquardt uses both Actify's SpinFire for Microsoft Office and SpinFire Professional products.

"The adoption of SpinFire Professional by Marquardt Switch is a prime example of how companies throughout the automotive and discreet manufacturing industries are implementing key technologies that will allow them gain a competitive advantage," said Randy Ochs, president and CEO of Actify. "We are delighted that, after an intensive evaluation process, Marquardt felt Actify best suited their digital design communication needs. We are confident that they will continue to realize cost and productivity benefits through product enhancements and upgrades in the near future."

Actify's suite of products are designed to enable easy and secure access, communication and distribution of multiple 2D/3D CAD file formats, and related documents through global enterprises and supply chains, without requiring expensive native CAD products or access to complex data management systems. This allows for paperless distribution and collaboration of complex design data so companies will realize cost savings and productivity gains in product design, procurement, quoting and estimation, manufacturing, sales, marketing and field support.
