Applied Engineering, Inc. today announced that it is donating 500 licenses of industry leading engineering design and analysis software to the North Dakota University System. The donation consists of a 500 seat education lab package of SolidWorks® Education Edition 2005-2006, along with a three-year subscription which provides software updates and technical support.
“By making this software available throughout North Dakota’s universities, our state’s engineering students gain access to cutting-edge, industry-leading engineering tools. That experience is very valuable as they enter the workforce,” noted Dave Raatz, President of Applied Engineering. “This donation is a result of the close relationship between the North Dakota universities engineering departments and Applied Engineering. Over the years Applied Engineering has benefited from hiring skilled students from North Dakota universities, and we want to give something back to those institutions to help them continue to educate future generations of engineers.”

Along with this donation, Applied Engineering is also giving the engineering professors within the North Dakota University System, training for a fraction of standard pricing. This training will allow these educators to gain knowledge of how the software functions and how it is used in today’s industries. This knowledge can be passed on to their students.
