Cosmic Blobs Offers Expansion Pack

PARIS—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Nov. 9, 2005— Dassault Systemes (NASDAQ: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) today announced that its Cosmic Blobs team, makers of the most powerful 3D graphics software ever invented for kids, has delivered new offerings that enhance the out-of-box Cosmic Blobs(R) experience and help children create mysterious medieval-themed worlds.

'Castles & Kingdoms,' the first full-fledged expansion pack for Cosmic Blobs, is available today, nearly a year to the day after the launch of Cosmic Blobs software. 'Castles & Kingdoms' consists of more than 50 new medieval-themed 3D character models, decals and textures that give children everything they need to create their own medieval scenes. These new elements include: a dragon, knight, king, queen, and princess; castles, armor, weapons, shields, and catapults; and new character animations such as wing-flapping and back flips.

With this new Blob content, a child can make his Jester entertain the crowd with comical dance steps, or have her knight defend the village against a flying dragon. The expansion pack is available now for $4.99 via download from the Cosmic Blobs Web site at

Also available now is Cosmic Blobs Version 1.2, an update to the original software program that introduces tool tips and an interactive introductory demo, both of which give children an optional head start in learning how to create amazing 3D graphics in Cosmic Blobs. The introductory demo is a quick-start scenario that exposes new users to Cosmic Blobs and its three principal modes. Unlike movie-style demos, Cosmic Blobs' demo engages users in their first real commands. Users can disable the demo when they don't need it and enable it when introducing friends or family to Blobs.

Both the introduction and tool tips features are available now in the Version 1.2 update, free for existing customers to download from the Cosmic Blobs Web site.

"These enhancements directly satisfy requests from our many devoted customers whose experiences will enormously benefit new generations of Cosmic Blobs users," said Steven DeBenedictis, product manager for Cosmic Blobs. "Castles & Kingdoms is the first of many opportunities for users to develop new civilizations from the ground up, an activity with rich creative and educational implications."
