Southampton, UK. 19 September, 2005. – ICEM Ltd., the leading developer of surface modelling, surface quality analysis and design visualisation software, has announced that the winner of the ICEM-sponsored Best Conceptual Exterior category in the Interior Motives Design Awards, 2005 was Jonathan Tatum, a student at the Umeå Institute of Design in Sweden. The prize of a trophy and $500 was presented to the winner by Kate Mills, global marketing director, ICEM Ltd., at the awards ceremony and reception held on Wednesday, 14 September at the King Kamehameha Club in Frankfurt, Germany, during this year’s IAA (Frankfurt Motor Show).
Winners of the overall award, who received a trophy and $5000, were Ivan Kouriatchi, Denis Voenkov and Alen Kharinkin from the Tomsk State University of Architecture & Building in Russia, who also won the Best Innovation award. Other category winners, who each received a trophy and $500, were: Michal Latko from Akademia Sztuk Pieknych w Katowicach in Poland (Best Use of Technology); Tzu-Han Chou from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, USA (Best Production Interior); Ryan Campbell from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, USA (Best Conceptual Interior); Curic Kemal from Wuppertal University, Germany (Best Lifestyle Interior); Wei-Chieh (William) Tu from the Pratt Institute, New York, USA (Best Eco Design Concept); and Jarno Sundell from Umeå Institute of Design, Sweden (Best Production Exterior).
The awards ceremony was attended by invited guests from the automotive industry along with the Interior Motives Design Awards 2005 judging panel, which included senior managers and heads of design from DaimlerChrysler, Volvo Car Corporation, Johnson Controls, Land Rover, Renault, Stile Bertone, Volkswagen, Aston Martin, Intier Automotive and Nissan Design Europe.
