CLIFTON PARK, NY, June 10, 2005 -- Simmetrix Inc., the leading provider of component software for simulation-based design and CAD/CAE integration, today announced the release of the Simulation Application Suite. The CAD/CAE market has exhibited an increasing demand for simulation to validate performance early and often in the design process. Simmetrix understands this demand and has responded with the Simulation Application Suite.
The Simulation Application Suite is a toolkit environment for rapid application development for simulation applications. Custom graphical interactors focused on mesh and model visualization and model attribution are combined with an embedded Python language interpreter to produce a development toolkit that enables efficient production of customized applications. The unique architecture of the Simulation Application Suite incorporates a range of world class component software tools including components from Simmetrix, Tech Soft America, Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), Spatial Corp, and UGS Corp (UGS). The Simulation Application Suite combines the power of CAD data access (Granite, ACIS, Parasolid), simulation definition, and automatic mesh generation/adaptivity with the high-performance graphics of HOOPS.
Ron Fritz, Managing Partner of TSA noted, “We’re enthusiastic about HOOPS/3dAF’s inclusion within the Simulation Application Suite. We applaud their vision in the creation of this combined toolkit and believe the Simulation Application Suite is a powerful solution that will prove invaluable to many developers of CAE applications.”
The Simulation Application Suite comes pre-packaged with a number of sampleapplications including a mesh viewer, a model viewer and a simulation "workbench" that can be modified to suit a customers needs. A customer can leverage these pre-packaged sample applications or entirely new applications may be developed. The Simulation Application Suite provides a full
range of CAD data access, attribute management, advanced meshing and powerful display capabilities, providing an excellent environment for a common CAD integrated infrastructure for in-house codes as well as vertical simulation applications that need to support complex physics.
Joe Walsh, VP Business Development for Simmetrix noted, “Our work with CAE/Simulation providers has demonstrated that there is an important class of commercial and in-house developers who may have advanced solver codes, or need for specific vertical solutions but not enough development resources to create their own commercial-grade pre-processor. The
Simulation Application Suite solves that problem, enabling even the smallest development teams to easily deploy world class simulation modeling applications.”
