DATE presents a new initiative on System Design Records

London and Lausanne, 5 September 2005 – DATE. Europe's largest event for electronic system design and test has strengthened and expanded the scope of its programme to address the needs of the industrial and academic community, including, but not limited to, executives, managers, designers and scientists.

In addition to a very strong scientific programme based on a record number of submissions which should attract around 1,000 researchers and practitioners from across the world, DATE 06 launches a new initiative on System Design Records.

Under the joint chairmanship of Prof. Giovanni De Micheli, Professor and Director of the Integrated Systems Centre at EPFL, and Dr. Ivo Bolsens , Vice President and CTO of Xilinx Inc., together with a selected committee of system design academics and professionals, the System Design Records initiative aims at presenting circuit and system design experiences that can prove to reach a record in terms of performance, power management, size, innovation in applications or that show any other concrete advantage with respect to state of the art applications.

The system designs may be embedded or integrated systems, including Systems on Chip, Systems in a Package, FPGA-based or reconfigurable platforms, up to large boards.

A specific call for papers is therefore issued to seek these system design records. Authors should submit an abstract of 300 words stating the application domain and the record achieved and a manuscript of up to 2 pages for publication in the DATE Proceedings describing the system and containing data on the experimental evaluations performed that show the actual records achieved, possibly together with a photo of the prototype.

Authors are invited to submit any additional material that could be useful for the selection of the committee, but may not be published due to proprietary confidential information.

Submissions have to go through the DATE electronic submission web site.
