Ability to Freely Import and Export Files Key to Working with Global Customers
Pratt & Whitney-Paton relies on KeyCreator to design thermal barrier coatings. The Ukraine-based research & development department is tasked with developing new coating technologies for aero and industrial engines. KeyCreator allows Pratt & Whitney-Paton to create complex assembling and section its views more easily than other design tools.
"Pratt & Whitney-Paton designers prefer KeyCreator because it is optimized and well-suited to the designing tasks required by our business," said Alexander Medvedyev, sales, marketing and customer support manager, Pratt & Whitney-Paton. "From a customer service perspective, KeyCreator's interoperability and translation features are invaluable.
"Our business is focused on gas turbine airfoils repair. Many of these customers are from the former U.S.S.R. and have widespread access of AutoCAD. Pratt & Whitney-Paton's repair facility uses AutoCAD 2005, and we actively use the conversion tools built into KeyCreator to import and export these files," continued Medvedyev.
Pratt & Whitney-Paton selected KeyCreator (and its predecessor CADKEY), in a process that involved the IT department, designers and Pratt & Whitney-Paton management. The company considered current experience, previous completed jobs, and cooperation between departments and with customers before selecting KeyCreator.
"As supported by our recent survey on CAD interoperability(1), many large design and manufacturing businesses and related, smaller 'job shops' struggle with CAD file compatibility and interoperability," said Robert Bean, COO, Kubotek USA. "Pratt & Whitney-Paton has very specific needs -- driven by their customers' preferred formats -- for design tools that both meet the creative and technological needs of the designer, while also addressing the business needs and customer requirements. KeyCreator has solved both of these problems for Pratt & Whitney-Paton."
"Key Creator's flexibility is highly appreciated by customers like Pratt & Whitney-Paton allowing their designers to work with external data and giving them a complete set of tools to enhance their creativity." said Luca Cariglia, executive vice president and COO, Kubotek Europe srl. "Users don't need to adapt themselves to the product -- the software adapts itself to users' work methods and procedures."
Kubotek KeyCreator builds on the heritage of CADKEY, the first true 3D MCAD software for the desktop. KeyCreator combines both the latest in geometry-based design and modeling technology, and a legacy of success in helping customers in the design of tooling, complex machinery, fixtures, molds and dies in a multitude of product development industries including automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, sports equipment, medical device, and many more.
The KeyCreator creation engineering product line includes multidimensional design and drafting, NC programming and reverse engineering capabilities. The rapidly expanding product line features the company's unique geometry-based foundation with Direct Feature Editing(TM) and sophisticated deformation techniques.
