Start Magazine Names Proficiency A “Company To Keep An Eye On”

WALTHAM, Mass. – September 7, 2005 – Proficiency, a global provider of enterprise interoperability software, today announced that it was named among 10 organizations as a “Company to Keep An Eye On” by Start magazine. This Start award was created to recognize software and hardware vendors that have developed innovative applications or products for the manufacturing industry. Companies were judged on their recent growth record, how their products/services are unique, and how they are meeting customer demands. “Start magazine is proud to recognize Proficiency for its unique solution and ongoing growth,” stated Start’s Editor-in-Chief John Buell. “Proficiency has demonstrated remarkable innovation in a challenging environment, helping manufacturers overcome interoperability obstacles to better compete in the global marketplace.” In June 2005, Proficiency released version 4.0 of its award-winning Collaboration Gateway™. This software release offered industry-first functionality, allowing organizations to protect their intellectual property when delivering models to collaboration partners. Aimed at facilitating inter-divisional collaboration within separate groups of one company, or between extended, global design teams from partner companies, the Collaboration Gateway is particularly well suited for automotive, aerospace and heavy original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers. “We are honored that Start designated us as a ‘Company to Keep an Eye On’,” stated Trenton H. Brown, president and chief executive officer, Proficiency. “This award underscores our commitment to helping organizations protect their intellectual property when delivering models to collaboration partners.” The Start magazine Hottest Companies and Companies to Keep an Eye On awards for 2005 appeared in the July/August issue of Start.
