Program to Advance Engineering Enterprise IntegrationHUNTSVILLE, Ala.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Aug. 9, 2005— Intergraph Corporation (NASDAQ: INGR) is introducing the SmartPlant(R) Alliance program to promote development of SmartPlant Enterprise integration adapters by customers, complementary software vendors and consultants for their own or third-party applications. The program will enable firms to solve complex engineering business problems, such as improving project execution, handover and plant operational efficiency through advanced integration technology while optimizing engineering IT investment. Program participants can market integration adapters produced under the program, which has a one-year, renewable term. Companies enrolling in the SmartPlant Alliance program receive tools needed to develop SmartPlant adapters, including software licenses, training and maintenance support.
"The SmartPlant Alliance program is structured expressly to help clients to achieve their vision of an integrated engineering enterprise and provides a practical process for complementary software vendors to work together. Alliance participants can integrate in-house, third-party or commercial applications within the SmartPlant Enterprise to solve specific business problems," said Patrick Holcomb, senior vice president, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine.
The SmartPlant Enterprise integrates the engineering enterprise with other business, operations and maintenance systems by managing the physical plant engineering information.
"For Intergraph, the program will expand the application portfolio integrated within the SmartPlant Enterprise, by an order of magnitude, over the coming years. The alliance program further demonstrates the openness and flexibility of SmartPlant integration technology," Holcomb also said.
